Srijit Mukherji’s directed film ‘Ek Je Chillo Raja’ has received another laurel. The movie has received prestigious award Mahanayak Samman which is organized by the West Bengal government.

‘Ek Je Chillo Raja’ has received best Film And Screenplay at Mahanayak Awards. The director took to his official Twitter handle to share his happiness. “EkJeChhiloRaja gets the Best Film and Best Screenplay @ the Mahanayak Awards 2019 from the Govt of West Bengal.

Recently, he was in Stuttgart for the screening of his film Ek Je Chhilo Raja. ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ is a period drama. The movie stars Jisshu Sengupta in the titular role of Maharaja Mahendra Kumar Chowdhury as well as the Bhawal sanyasi. The film also stars Jaya Ahsan, Aparna Sen, Anirban Bhattacharya, Anjan Dutt, Rudranil Ghosh, and Sreenanda Shankar. The movie was released in 2018.

The movie is all about Mahendra Kumar Choudhuri, the prince of the Bhawal Estate, is taken to Darjeeling for treatment by his relatives where he dies. Years later, a sanyasi shows up claiming to be the lost prince. And how he struggles to prove his identity?

Meanwhile, Srijit Mukherji has recently completed the shooting of ‘Gumnaami’.  It is to be noted here that the film has been in controversy ever since Mukherji had announced to make this film. Veteran Bengali hero Prosenjit Chatterjee will be playing the lead role.
